INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Lucas Oil Raceway hosted its 18th Wild Wednesday of 2019 on August 7. Wild Wednesday is Lucas Oil Raceway's weekly test and tune program open to dragsters, motorcycles, and other street legal vehicles. On Wednesday night, approximately 110 drivers participated in the Wild Wednesday with participants ranging from junior dragsters to street legal trucks to motorcycles. At the end of the night, the first-ever Wild Wednesday 12-second index heads up racing took place with Tylor Dillman winning the $100 check and golden Wild Wednesday sticker. Each Wednesday for Wild Wednesday at Lucas Oil Raceway, gates open at 5 p.m. for racers and spectators with the first races beginning at approximately 5:30 p.m. The cost to races is $25 while spectators are $10. Children 12-and-under receive free admission to Wild Wednesday.
Lucas Oil Raceway will be quite until the 65th NHRA Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals August 28 through September 2. Each Labor Day weekend, NHRA racers and fans descend on Lucas Oil Raceway for the “World's Biggest Drag Race”. They say that no career is truly complete without a win at this, drag racing’s grandest event. As the last race of the 18-race regular season, this season’s event will take on extra importance. The stakes will be high with an increased amount of points in play via a return to the point-and-a-half system as teams battle for the final top-10 spots in the Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship playoffs.
