Index Race Added to Wild Wednesday

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Lucas Oil Raceway will introduce a new element to its Wild Wednesday program on August 14. To end the evening, interested cars can enter a 12-second index heads up challenge with a $25 buy-in and a winner-take-all purse.

The event will begin at 9 p.m. with the winning cars immediately returning to the staging lanes after the ¼-mile run. A full list of rules and details can be seen below.

  • No buybacks
  • Head’s up
  • ¼-mile
  • 4/10 Pro tree
  • Must meet track safety requirements
  • No motorcycles
  • Cross center line=disqualified
  • Red light=disqualified
  • Times will be shown
  • Race entry: $25 (separate from tech card)
  • At least $100 winner-take-all payout
  • Hot lapping (return to lanes if you win)
  • Starts at 9 p.m. sharp

Wild Wednesday is Lucas Oil Raceway's weekly test and tune program open to dragsters, motorcycles, and other street legal vehicles. Gates open at 5 p.m. for racers and spectators with the first races beginning at approximately 5:30 p.m. The cost to races is $25 while spectators are $10. Children 12-and-under receive free admission to Wild Wednesday.
